The Trip Was Monotonous

During the time while I was stuck in the boat I was very lonely. Everything was hot and humid. Everyday like the other. The mood was very monotonous. Nothing new ever happened.

As I recall my experience among the boat I realize how significant the color orange was. Everything that helped me was orange. Richard Parker, the whistle, and the buoy were all orange. And all helped me survive. Animals were used as connotation as well. The hyena for example. Hyenas are cowardly and scroungers. They do not do their own work.

I had two very influential people in my life before I left for Canada. They were my mentors and coincidently both their names were Mr. Kumar. They were very different people and had very different views. One was a religious man, and the other a teacher from my school. I have not let anyone know which story is true, but Richard Parker would be myself.

My Sense of Place

I was very connected to these animals and would watch them every day. Another object I was also strongly connected to was my prayer rug. When I found out I was going to be moving to Canada, I realized how much I love my home. I love the dry air, the dusty ground, and the wonderful people.

Religion Growing Up

Due to the strong religious influences in my town I am very religious. I am Christian, Muslim, and Hindu. Growing up in a zoo also made me very aware of animals. Ever since I was little I have observed them and strive to know more and more about them.

I grew up in Pondicherry.

The town I grew up in, Pondicherry, was very meaningful to me. I met a lot of people that meant a lot to me growing up. There were large hills around where I lived. And while on the boat was surrounded by vast stretches of the ocean. And the uncomfortable boat was my home during the time I was stranded.

Recently, I was stuck on a boat. And the whole time all I wanted was to be found and rescued. Life stranded on the boat was very hard to stand. And to make matters worse I was trapped on the boat with Richard Parker, a tiger from my old zoo. The thing that helped me most is my intense passion for religion.
